Crypto Market Update 08-09-23

Happy Friday everyone!

Full steam ahead, here is your weekly recap 📰😎

Last 7 Days Market Performance

Bitcoin is up 0.1%, now at $ 25,820.00 📈

Ethereum is up 0.1%, now at $ 1,638.00 📈

Total crypto market cap: $ 1.08 Trillion

Fact for the week:

⚽ Lionel Messi is in a state of grace and with that North American companies that have supported his adventure (looking at you Apple) are rubbing their hands with pleasure. Apple owns the television rights to the MLS league and with the arrival of the Argentinian legend in this league, Apple TV+ subscriptions have already increased by 280%. On Messi's first day alone, there were 110,000 new registrations - the average in previous years was 6000 🤯

Onto this week’s updates 🚦

🔴 North Korea knows about hacks 🚨

Another day, another hack in the crypto space, by the usual suspects, the famous Lazarus Group, a North Korean hacker organization. The FBI reported this week that the $41 million hack to a crypto project called Stake, was led by these skilled hackers, and this just two months after $60 million were hacked in July to another crypto project. For context, last year alone they were responsible for the theft of over 1.6 billion dollars in the crypto space. 🧑💻

🟡 French influencers, the party is over 📱

Social media stars in France now have to pass a special quiz to talk about crypto and financial products. This new rule makes sure they're not pushing bad or risky deals to their fans. If you’re a French influencer you need to get a grade of 75% or higher to pass, and you have to retake the test every year to keep up to date. The positive thing is, next time you see a French influencer talking about money, you know they've done their homework! 💰🌟

🟢 Bitcoin bigger than Spain’s population 🧍

A new record, there are now more people holding Bitcoin than the entire population of Spain. That's over 48.5 million folks with at least a little bit of Bitcoin to their name. Why the big jump? Well, governments are warming up to Bitcoin, and big companies are getting in on the action. Some countries, like El Salvador, even made it an official type of money. Are you one of these people?

🎬 Unlike the markets, the feeling is very positive here at Lympid, this month we will have a new product that will get everyone talking. 👀 Meanwhile, if you are not part of the 48.5 million who own bitcoin, you can do so with us at http://app.lympid.io
